       Biography

Diane Francis grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, Massachusetts and a Masters of Art Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She teaches at the Carroll School and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Diane lives in Tewksbury, Massachusetts with her husband and two daughters. DianeĆ­s pastels,mono-prints and sculptures have been exhibited in a number of galleries and art festivals and they have won major awards. Diane's artwork is in many private collections. Diane has presented at conferences, done workshops and demonstrations throughtout the United States.

       Artist Statement

I have always been fascinated with the human form. I enjoy observing life and its color. I observe humans and animals how they move, the space they take up in the world. I enjoy reflecting on the past and the people here before us.
