My artwork emanates from who I am; my history, my journeys, my experiences. From childhood I have been pulled towards experimenting with art making. I remember with glee being introduced to finger painting in third grade. Finally in the 1980’s, I allowed myself to follow my dreams.
Through drawing, painting and sculpture I have learned to
see in two and three dimensions. The study of color added more understanding as I studied watercolor. Recently I have discovered the excitement of monotype printing which allows me to explore texture, color, shape, and form in layer after layer until I have created a unique piece of work with many layers of depth and meaning.
Born in Missouri in 1940, I learned how to "make something out of nothing", which is now often my most rewarding and successful way of working.
