       Artist Statement

I am both a painter and a printmaker. My artwork, whether printmaking or painting, goes beyond underlying structure and form into the dimension of visual and sensual movement. These invite the viewer to explore, not only in space, but in time, the vast depths and distances in nature in my landscapes. My printmaking takes on a more abstractified aspect as the primacy of movement choreographs the elements of form, content, texture and color into a unified whole. My inspiration is the natural world around me viewed through the lense of lyrical abstraction.
