A Trace of Frances
Lisa P. Oswald is a monotype artist whose work reinvents traditional images to reflect the world as she sees it. Texture and color are the tools she uses to inject mood and feeling into her work.
She learned printmaking at the Contemporary Artists Center in North Adams, Massachusetts, and furthered her studies at The Creative Arts Workshop and Center For Contemporary Printmaking in Connecticut, and the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy.
Lisa's work-highly interpretive, somewhat ambiguous, and often provocative - consistently blurs the line between how we see ourselves versus the way others see us. In Lisa's words, "My art expresses moments in time, images that reflect the world refracted through my eyes."
Lisa is a member of the Monotype Guild of New England, Center for Contemporary Printmaking, and Westport Arts Center. In addition to printmaking and working full-time at a prominent Internet company, she is an active volunteer for the CT Zoological Society and American Red Cross.
Most recently, her work has been exhibited at: 2004 City Lights Gallery, Group Exhibition, Bridgeport, Connecticut 2004 Solarplate Revolution, currently traveling the US 2004 Hot Off the Press, Faxon Art Center, Falmouth, Massachusetts 2004 The Big Show, Annual Exhibition, Westport Arts Center
